A Day in Switzerland

It was saturday morning for me at Baden in Switzerland. I was in front of laptop when, I saw Gautham pinging in the gmail tab. He seemed to be bored of my serious note on self worth, in my last blog. He was asking to put my light thoughts as well in another post(He even gave me the name for the post, which I am using here). Intially, I was reluctant. I said I will try. But, due to the hang over of 'Dil Chahta Hai' (which preaches vertues of friendship) that I saw friday night, I decided to blog.

So, here I am blogging about my first saturday of my second stay in switzerland. My place is Baden, its around 20 min.s from Zurich.

I woke up late. But, I was the first among my rommates to get up. The days are short (shorter when compared to my motherland India). In fact, the days are of varied length along the year in Switz, as it lies farther to equator line of earth. Now, in winter, the bright day light will be there from morning 8:00 till evening 5:30 only.

It was aurnd 10 when we had our breakfast. The bread and a bigger avathar of 'little hearts'(I dont know what they call it here, though I only bought it). I ate wheat bread, which is heathlier. The wheather was not sunny. There were clouds in the sky. There was slight drizzling. My roommate took charge of preparing dal for the aftenoon and I got busy with the internet. I was also waiting for some mails from potential owners, since, I have to vacate the current house next week. I need the new house only for 15 days, it is bit difficult get one for only 15 days.(Got a mail offering a free stay, dont know how good is that B&B - Bed and Breakfast).

We had lunch in the 1st floor(You can say, I stay in ground floor). Five of us had a delicious lunch. There was dal and curd along with rice. I listened to some KJY melodies and slept in the afternoon.

In the evening we had coffee and started to Thermal Baden. It is on the bank of river limmat, flowing in the baden city. It was around 10 min.s walk from our place. There are 2 swimming pools at Thermal Baden, one of them is open air. The warm water oozes out from the nozzels kept underneath the water level in the swimming pool. There are nozzles placed at 1 meter distance from each other along the perifery. The water is claimed to be of medicinal qualities, though it is not a natural hot water springs. However, there are many natural hot water springs in Baden. The natual hot water springs are mostly under control of private hotels and Thermal baden in managed by Government.

We went inside Thermal Baden and got our keys for the wardrob, changed and got into the closed water pool. The water was warm and soothing. Out of we four, only one was good swimmer. I took one of the floats and started floating. At the other end of the swimming pool, there is a massaging place, where number of water nozzles are kept underneath the water level, so that, water gushes into different body parts, giving a massage like feeling. It was too good.

Next we went to the open air swimming pool. The swiming pool was warmer. I had to put my head into the water often since, it was cold outside. As soon as water came to surface, it got cold, even though the nozzles below were delivering hot water.

There are seperate massaging nozzles for back and neck, in the open air swimming pool. They give a tranquilizing effect. After some time it started raining, which made us feel better. Then we had competitions for holding the breath under water. I consistently came first out of the water:) Then they started placing candle lamps. The burning candle was enclosed in glass lamps. They switched off the light, we could see dark sky over us, the charming experience for me ever was to 'think about anything I wanted' my face directed upwards, looking into the sky, rain drops falling from nowhere, I could see the rain drops when they reached just a meter above me!

Then we came out, gave the locker keys and then went to a Thai hotel for dinner. The 'Pizza Marghareta' was tasting superb, however I couldn't eat the last part. Even the tomato soup was amazing.

It was around 10 when we reached our room. I tried watching 'Perfume' along with my friends. I couldn't watch completely, and was getting sleepy due to the massaging effect. Went to bed and it was only today morning, I opened my eyes again.
